Maintenance Technician - 2nd and 3rd Shift Openings
Overview
A leading automotive supplier in Plymouth, Michigan, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician – Journeyman to join its team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production equipment and systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Shift & Pay
- 2nd and 3rd Shift
- Hourly Rate: $37.82 per hour + $0.75/hour shift premium
- Overtime: Paid after 8 hours per day
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning machines, including motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures.
- Replace or repair damaged electrical components such as relays, switches, and motors.
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot equipment to identify root causes of malfunctions.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and toolroom teams to address breakdowns efficiently.
- Dismantle, inspect, and reassemble machinery to correct mechanical or electrical issues.
- Measure and evaluate parts for wear, misalignment, or damage, and replace as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and uptime.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Maintenance Journeyman card or 8+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Fanuc robotics and GMAW / resistance (spot) welding equipment.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
