- Stable, four‑day evening schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 pm–5:30 am.
What will I actually do?
- Set up and run a range of CNC and manual equipment—mills, lathes, and grinders—holding tight tolerances per print.
- Dial in machining repeatability by calculating speeds/feeds/overrides, and use command codes to retrieve machine data for program restarts and alarms.
- Read and apply STERIS® blueprints with GD follow travelers, written processes, and other job documents.
- Measure features and in‑process dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and other precision gauges.
- Apply tool life management to identify premature tool/insert wear and act before it affects quality.
- Stay safety‑first with required PPE; keep the work area organized using 5S.
- Report any safety issues, irregularities, or discrepancies right away; complete tasks efficiently and safely.
- Follow policies and conduct expectations communicated via the handbook, bulletin boards, newsletters, and management.
- Communicate clearly with teammates and help train other operators when needed.
When will I work?
Monday through Thursday, 7:00 pm to 5:30 am, with overtime as required.
What do I need to bring?Must‑haves
- High school diploma or GED (technical degree preferred).
- 2+ years of experience as a machinist.
- Hands‑on skill setting up and operating CNC and conventional lathes and mills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications and GD&T.
- Comfort using precision metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Solid math skills and a quality‑driven mindset.
- Effective communicator; able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Team player who adapts to changing priorities.
Nice‑to‑haves
- Experience with Lean tools: 5S, Kanban, Visual Management, Waste Elimination, Root Cause Problem Solving.
