Acute Clinical Staff Pharmacist

In-Office | Ogallala, NE, United States


Nebraska License and Chemo Compounding Required.


Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications accurately and safely, ensuring proper dosing and labeling.

  • Provide clinical pharmacotherapy recommendations for acute patient care.

  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize therapeutic regimens.

  • Monitor patient outcomes and adverse events related to medications.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards (e.g., USP, JCAHO).

  • Lead or participate in quality improvement and performance metrics tracking.

  • Develop and update formulary and standard operating procedures.

  • Provide drug information and education to healthcare team and patients.

  • Assist in medication reconciliation and discharge planning.

  • Manage inventory, storage conditions, and minimization of waste.

  • Mentor junior pharmacy staff and contribute to professional development.


Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) with current license

  • Clinical Pharmacist with acute care or hospital experience

  • Therapeutic monitoring and optimization of regimens in acute care

  • Regulatory/compliance knowledge (USP, JCAHO, DEA rules) and safety standards

  • Accurate sterile/non-sterile dispensing and labeling proficiency

  • Collaborative practice with physicians and nurses; effective communication

  • Pharmacovigilance: adverse event assessment and reporting

  • Formulary development, maintenance, and SOP updates

  • Medication reconciliation and discharge planning expertise

  • Quality improvement participation and performance metrics tracking

  • Inventory management, storage conditions, and waste minimization

  • Mentoring junior staff and contributing to professional development

  • Contract role on-site with ability to work in a high-visibility, results-driven environment

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making; proficiency with pipelines and dashboards

  • On-call or to-be-available for critical patient care periods as needed
