Field Engine Mechanic
Our client specializes in Clean Power Heating and Colling and is seeking an experienced Field Engine Mechanic for a full-time position. This role involves working on a line of energy-efficient stationary engines used in various industrial applications.
This position is remote with travel daily in a company-provided service vehicle, fully equipped with the tools and support you need to succeed in the field. Pay ranges from $25/hr - $40/hr depending on your experience (Mechanic level C, B, or A) working with various types of engines, generators, and chillers independently. Travel is primarily around Okaloosa County and Jacksonville. Qualified candidates must be located in the area, preferably Okaloosa County.
Responsibilities:
• Perform preventative maintenance on engines at prescribed service intervals, including oil and filter changes and replacement of standard tune-up components.
• Conduct major system repairs, including removal and installation of cylinder heads and complete engines.
• Perform diagnostic testing, such as compression ratio, cylinder leak-down, and exhaust emissions sampling.
• Troubleshoot control systems, diagnosing issues with sensors, switches, relays, contactors, actuators, and control valves using digital voltmeters, current clamp meters, and embedded control systems.
Requirements:
• Ability to read and interpret operations and maintenance manuals, including electrical diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and learn company-specific equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and overtime as needed.
• Physically capable of regularly lifting and maneuvering objects over 40 lbs.
Additional Details:
This position reports directly to the Area Supervisor. Training is conducted primarily in the field, supported by experienced technical staff. Field Service Technicians are provided with a company vehicle and tools.
