Work Setting: Bench technician & light office design support
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Technician to support the testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of complex aerospace and high‑reliability electronic products. This role is heavily hands‑on and focused on component‑level troubleshooting, working closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure product quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
This is an excellent long‑term career opportunity for an experienced electronics technician or an entry‑level electrical engineer who enjoys working at the bench, solving problems, and growing technically within a stable, expanding organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional testing and component‑level troubleshooting on complex electrical and electronic assemblies
- Diagnose failures in test equipment or fixtures and take corrective action
- Set up, operate, and adjust manual and automated test equipment
- Use test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, voltmeters, power supplies, and related tools
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and circuit diagrams
- Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to clarify designs and suggest manufacturing or test improvements
- Record, document, and communicate detailed technical issues and test results to Test Engineers, Design Engineers, and Supervisors
- Help determine test methods, procedures, and sequences for new assignments
- Provide technical guidance to department personnel as needed
- Cross‑train in additional job functions to support team flexibility
- Coordinate work assignments with supervisors to meet department schedules
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
- OR
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience working as an electronics technician in an aerospace or high‑reliability electronics environment
- Proven ability to troubleshoot to the component level
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, circuitry, and test methods
- Experience using oscilloscopes and common electronic test equipment
- Understanding of basic math and engineering principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to clearly document technical findings
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience with aerospace, military, or defense electronics
- Exposure to test automation or formal test plans
- Hardware testing experience on complex electrical products
- Basic CAD skills for simple drawings or test fixture layouts
- Interest in long‑term career growth and technical development
Work Environment
- Primarily a bench‑level technician environment working alongside other technicians and engineers
- Some time spent in a cubicle setting handling basic design support, documentation, or fixture drawings
- Clean, organized workspace that is collaborative and not overly loud
- Exposure to a wide variety of military, aerospace, and commercial electronics

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bohemia, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
