Role Description

\n

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Structural Engineer based in Louisville, KY, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing structural analysis, preparing calculations, and designing structural systems. Daily tasks include collaborating on project development, using computer-aided design (CAD) technology to draft plans, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. The engineer will also communicate with clients, project managers, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.

Responsibilities and Duties

\n

    \n
  • Perform structural calculations, design, and detailing for structural building elements, based on current building codes and specifications
  • \n

  • Review and interpret technical documents and designs
  • \n

  • Correspond directly with clients, design professionals and contractors
  • \n

  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings and/or 3D model to present design and details of structures
  • \n

  • Coordinate with designer and detailer to create drawings
  • \n

  • Will be required to follow and be knowledgeable of all company standards, policies and procedures
  • \n

  • Responsible for completing jobs on time based on the project schedule
  • \n

  • Good planning and organizational skills required for fast paced environment
  • \n

  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
  • \n

  • Willing to work overtime when requested
  • \n

Qualifications and Skills

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Civil Engineering with focus in Structural Engineering
  • \n

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Structural Design/ Structural Engineering in Industrial Field
  • \n

  • Must be a certified Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
  • \n

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus
  • \n

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents
  • \n

  • Ability to compute quantities and verify measurements and layouts
  • \n

  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • \n

  • Able to both work independently and work effectively in a team environment
  • \n

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • \n

  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel & Word) and CAD software (AutoCAD)
  • \n

  • 3D modeling experience using Tekla structures or another 3D BIM program is a plus
  • \n

  • Knowledge or experience with steel detailing is a plus
  • \n
