Bishop & Company is searching for a Sales Manager – Retail for an excellent client. This role leads and develops a statewide team of Account Managers and is responsible for the Company’s retail and institutional channels across Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island. This role is responsible for growing revenue, elevating product placement and presentation, driving new product distribution, and building the systems and culture needed to scale a high-performing sales team.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a statewide team of Account Managers across all islands.
  • Set clear performance expectations and hold the team accountable.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top sales talent as the team grows.
  • Foster a proactive, results-oriented sales culture that reflects the Company’s local values.

Sales Growth & Account Management

  • Own and grow key retail account relationships statewide, including grocery chains, convenience, club, and commissary channels.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and distribution expansion for existing and new product lines.

Merchandising Excellence

  • Oversee in-store merchandising standards and improve product placement across all accounts and territories.
  • Conduct regular store visits and field audits to ensure optimal shelf presence and product rotation.

Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with operations and supply chain to ensure customer satisfaction while protecting margin and minimizing waste.
  • Navigate customer portals for accurate pricing, promotional planning, and account documentation.

Strategy & Reporting

  • Set and track quarterly and annual revenue targets by territory and account tier.
  • Prepare regular performance updates for GM and leadership team.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a team management or leadership role.
  • Proven track record of hitting revenue targets and growing accounts across multiple retail channels.
  • Experience developing and executing promotional plans across diverse account types.
  • Strong ability to coach, motivate, and hold a sales team accountable.
  • Solid understanding of retail execution, merchandising standards, and shrink/margin management.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and basic reporting tools.
  • Valid Hawaii driver’s license and ability to travel inter-island as needed.

Preferred Experience

  • Established buyer relationships with retailers in Hawaii.
  • Deep knowledge of the Hawaii market, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior.
  • Experience implementing or using CRM tools for sales tracking and pipeline management.

Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $110K-$125K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
