Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is seeking an experienced Senior Biomedical Engineer/Clinical Engineer to provide strategic guidance on medical equipment management, lead comprehensive program assessments across 170+ VA medical centers, and develop enterprise-level policies that ensure the safety, reliability, and availability of medical technology for Veterans. The ideal candidate will combine proven clinical engineering expertise with strong leadership capabilities to advance key initiatives including medical device cybersecurity, patient safety incident investigations, technology standardization, and HTM operational excellence. You will collaborate with stakeholders across clinical, biomedical engineering, IT, and administrative teams to establish HTM standards, develop assessment methodologies, and deliver transformational improvements across VHA's Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) program.

Responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive Healthcare Technology Management program assessments at VA medical centers to evaluate operations, compliance, and performance
- Provide technical expertise for complex medical device patient safety incident investigations and develop enterprise-wide preventive strategies
- Develop executive-level communications, strategic documentation, and policy standardization efforts for medical equipment management across VHA
- Facilitate national HTM workgroups and provide mentorship to VISN and VAMC HTM programs across the enterprise
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical engineering, IT, patient safety, and quality management to advance technology standardization and operational excellence initiatives
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering required
- Certification as a Clinical Engineer (CCE) required
- Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance (Tier 1/NACI). U.S. Citizenship required
- 20+ years of hospital and healthcare experience maintaining medical equipment, managing medical equipment programs, and leading stakeholder collaboration at all organizational levels
- 10+ years of expertise in medical device incident investigations, recall/safety alert program management, and regulatory compliance (TJC, FDA, ISO, SMDA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within a medical center HTM/Biomedical Engineering department, OR experience working in or with the VHA, OR understanding of VISN, VA medical center, and HTM/BE operations
- VHA or multi-facility healthcare system experience, familiarity with VHA HTM directives, or healthcare accreditation experience
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
