Scope and Purpose:
As a Contract Specialist, you will create and modify Microsoft Word templates used to generate contractual documents. The Contract Specialist provides research, analytical support and ongoing maintenance for Voluntary Benefits Policy and Certificate documents as well as assist with inquiries and projects. The qualified candidate must leverage knowledge of the business, utilize their collaborative relationships and insights to advise and make recommendations to enhance the quality and consistency of guidance. This position is in-office at our Louisville location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Routinely interact with internal customers to implement new contracts and provide ongoing contract support for new and existing clients.
- Represent certs/policies on special projects, defining business requirements and reporting back to a project team.
- Implement contract language changes as defined by product updates or customization.
- Implement new contract language associated with new products.
- Work within the FIMMAS platform to create and modify contract data and rules.
- Monitor numerous reports to analyze contract data and identify process gaps/system issues, and work with the appropriate parties to resolve any issues/process gaps in a timely manner.
- Perform quality checks on contract language to ensure adherence to filed product language.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Graduate or equivalent (GED); experience in field. Microsoft Word certification is desirable. Experience as a Document Production Specialist, Template Coordinator or Word Template Technician. Workplace Voluntary Benefits knowledge and experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Word to create and modify Microsoft Word templates (formatted as a mail merge with extensive conditional coding).
- Experience with .dotx or .dotm templates.
- Experience with insert/update of macros.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess creative, innovative critical thinking skills.
- Cheerful outlook and able to work in an office team environment.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Flexibility - ability to manage changing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
