Support for Office of the General Counsel (B2)
This position will provide critical administrative support to the Office of the General Counsel attorneys. The role requires experience in a business-related field, the ability to independently manage workload, communicate effectively with diverse individuals, exercise discretion and sound judgment, and maintain a strong working knowledge of office operations.
Given the sensitive nature of the work, the individual must be extremely meticulous, detail-oriented, and capable of operating with a high degree of independence and responsibility with minimal oversite. Errors in this position could have significant implications for both the attorneys and the Agency, highlighting the critical need for accuracy, discretion, organization, and accountability.
The position directly supports attorneys working on impactful and sensitive legal matters for the Government. The individual will play a key role in ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in legal processes and case management. This support will significantly enhance the Office of the General Counsel's ability to address complex legal issues effectively and efficiently while minimizing risk and ensuring compliance with strict legal standards.
Primary responsibilities will include:
· Managing electronic filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, U.S. Courts, MSPB, and EEO.
· Preparing, formatting, and organizing legal documentation.
· Maintaining and organizing both electronic and physical case files.
· Assisting attorneys in preparing for litigation and prosecution.
· Drafting, proofreading, and sending correspondence on behalf of attorneys.
· Reviewing documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with filing requirements.
· Coordinating general office management functions to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
- Experience: We are seeking a highly skilled administrative professional who can work independently, remain extremely organized, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. Because this role supports attorneys in preparation for litigation and prosecution, accuracy is essential, and errors could have significant consequences.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move items weighing 20+ pounds.
- Experience with NASA or similar agency is preferred; active NASA badge is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Must pass criminal background and drug tests.
