Joseph, Hollander & Craft LLC has an immediate opening for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Civil Litigation legal team. The ideal candidate will, among other duties as assigned, request and review medical records, draft and prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery, manage calendars and provide clerical, administrative and organizational support to multiple attorneys. Excellent communication, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, participation in on-going learning and development, demonstration of initiative, and mentoring teammates are essential in this role. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Work Location: In person in our Overland Park, KS office
Work Remotely: Position is compatible with firm’s limited Telecommuting / Remote Work Program; employees are eligible to participate after 90 days of full-time employment subject to program guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
- Requesting, organizing, and reviewing medical records
- Drafting and preparing legal correspondence, pleadings, and discovery
- Assisting with e-discovery and document management
- Managing calendars, deadlines, and court-related filings
- Providing clerical, administrative, and organizational support to attorneys
- Maintaining accurate time entries and assisting with basic office functions
Requirements:
Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of two years civil litigation experience (medical malpractice, plaintiff-side litigation, or healthcare law experience strongly preferred). Must have experience in e-discovery, drafting documents and awareness of basic legal terminology and court filing requirements. Working knowledge of legal time entry, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of basic office functions.
