We are seeking an experienced and skilled Heavy Duty Technician to join our 2nd shift team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of heavy equipment, including tractors and trailers. The successful applicant will have a strong background in heavy equipment mechanics and be able to troubleshoot and repair equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including forklifts, tractors and trailers
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, transmissions, and other mechanical components
- Interpret schematics and repair equipment according to manufacturer specifications
- Conduct welding and soldering as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems on heavy equipment
- Use transmission and hydraulic system knowledge to make repairs
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure timely completion of tasks
Experience:
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- Experience with tractor-trailers and other heavy equipment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics
- Experience with hydraulic and transmission systems
- Strong mechanical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
