Job Description

Wisconsin State Government Agency is seeking a Long Term Consutlant with a Strong Background in SDLC Project Management.

Desired Experience:

10+ years leading large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects
5+ years in Software Project Management, including system/product implementations
5+ years applying Agile or hybrid methodologies to software delivery

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years managing/coordinating with vendors in software or systems projects
3+ years overseeing interconnected software initiatives within broader programs
Strong understanding of SDLC and software delivery cycles
Skilled at navigating both technical and business stakeholder environments
PMP or equivalent certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

Own full lifecycle Software Project Management: planning, execution, delivery, and transition
Manage scope, budget, timelines, resources, and issue escalation across software initiatives
Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate vendor contributions to software deliverables
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, requirements gathering, and stakeholder collaboration
Drive communication plans, status reporting, and alignment with business goals
Oversee UAT, training needs, and integration of transition plans into software rollouts
Report progress to portfolio owner and ensure business requirements are met

Skills & Competencies

Strategic thinking and problem-solving in software project environments
Conflict resolution and team leadership across technical and business domains
Advanced documentation, analysis, and communication skills
Deep knowledge of software planning tools (MS Project, Visio) and Agile tracking systems (e.g., ITSM)
Ability to influence, mentor, and work independently with sound judgment
Strong time management, prioritization, and attention to detail
Commitment to inclusive team culture and compliance with security standards
