A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment, including trucks, buses, and construction machinery. This role focuses on engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. It requires strong diagnostic skills, mechanical aptitude, and strict adherence to safety and maintenance procedures. The job often involves customer interaction and detailed record-keeping.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose issues in diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of equipment.
- Adhere to safety and maintenance procedures at all times.
- Interact with customers to understand their needs and provide effective solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance work conducted.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
