Sioux Valley Energy is looking for a dedicated Facilities Asset Manager to oversee and strategically manage the Cooperative's buildings, grounds, fleet vehicles, and physical assets. This key role reports to the VP of Technology and is responsible for ensuring facilities and fleet operations are safe, well-maintained, compliant, and operating efficiently while supporting employee comfort, operational reliability, and a positive public image of the Cooperative. The position also provides direct leadership and oversight of the Cooperative's Mechanics.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with facilities and fleet management, along with strong organizational and leadership skills. A proactive mindset, ability to manage preventive maintenance programs, coordinate vendors, and lead mechanics in a safety-focused environment are essential. This role plays an important part in long-term asset planning, cost-effective lifecycle management, and supporting Sioux Valley Energy's mission of service and reliability.
EDUCATION: High school diploma required. Degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, HVAC, or a related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Two years experience working with machinery, plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office products helpful.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of safe working practices and operation of building and grounds utility systems helpful.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills to act as a liaison with internal staff, contractors, and external vendors. Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple projects or tasks simultaneously. Must be a self-starter with the ability to follow and deliver instructions well. Must possess good reading and listening skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Inside and outdoors environments, work sites can be cramped and dirty. Variable work hours.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium work requiring exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Consistently stands, walks, stoops, kneels, and climbs stairs. Job requires sitting at a desk occasionally. Lifting and carrying of 10 to 50 pounds occasionally. Occasionally lifts objects above both shoulders and head level. Frequently pushes and pulls up to 40 pounds. Work is divided equally between inside and outside work. Exposure to varying temperature conditions including cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees. Hazards include mechanical and operating machinery. Safety equipment required. Some exposure to fumes, odors, chemicals, dust and dirt. Must be able to read, write and do arithmetic.
REPORTING LOCATION: Brandon or Colman, SD. Will be required to work throughout the service territory, as needed.
