Job DescriptionSalary: based on education and experience
*Must have a NYS Teaching Certification - B-2, and experience working as a lead teacher in a preK classroom*
Qualities: High energy, great interpersonal skills, motivated, creative, dedicated, takes initiative and ownership of work, nurturing, good work ethic, reliable, excellent communication skills
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Implement Creative Curriculum and supplement curriculum to inspire children and encourage their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth
Create classroom schedules
Give individual attention to children in classroom and maintain flexibility as to modify the classroom environment to meet the needs of individual children
Create an inclusive environment for children with special needs as much as possible without undue disruption
Maintain organization and cleanliness of classrooms
Maintain child accountability at all times
Partner with parents to support, guide and share in their child s growth and development
Maintain open communication with parents to provide consistency for children
Host parent teacher conferences twice a year, or on an as needed basis
Conduct assessments for individual children using ASQ-3 assessments
Be familiar with Teaching Strategies Gold and the input of information for developmental assessments
Use Procare Engage app (or Parent Square) to keep parents informed of their childs daily activities.
Supervising all assistant teachers, including floaters and subs, and ensuring everyone in their classroom is following rules/regulations and maintaining appropriate conduct.
