Your Opportunity + Impact
The Business Development Manager is focused on creating long-term growth opportunities for the company by developing and executing strategic business development initiatives in prioritized market sectors alongside firm leadership. In addition, the position will also focus on proposals / qualifications management, marketing and social media management, and employee recruitment management.
Key Responsibilities
- Researching industries and market trends to identify new business opportunities and creating step-by-step plans to enter new markets or launch new services.
- Run a lead-generation and follow-up program to prioritize and capture new clients, initiate contact with prospective clients and facilitate introduction meetings.
- Maintain the business development database and track opportunities.
- Keeping company leadership informed on business development progress by preparing marketing, sales, and forecast reports.
- Analyze requests for proposals/qualifications, lead strategy sessions, and develop key themes for company pursuits.
- Lead the assembly, writing, layout, and design of customized, aesthetically compelling RFQ/RFP responses.
- Develop, update, and curate marketing and proposal assets, including firm profiles, project cut sheets and photography, staff resumes, and technical proposal masters.
- Identify opportunities and manage submissions for industry awards.
- Manage the company website, print and social media content.
- Direct staff contributions for social media and web content.
- Manage brochures, swag, and advertising campaigns.
- Foster a team-oriented environment and uphold the company’s values.
- Must exemplify high standards of quality and excellence in performing the duties of the position
- Maintain professional certifications in fields of expertise, as needed.
Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or related field of study.
- Certifications: Optional credentials such as project management certifications (PMP) or the American Marketing Association (AMA) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) to five (5) year’s job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
- Advanced knowledge with Social Media Platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc) and software (WordPress, Canva, Adobe, etc).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally with clients and other external sources.
