Job Title: OHD Technician

The Overhead Door Technician will collaborate with our team to install and service a variety of overhead door systems, including sectional, rolling steel, high speed, service and sliding doors, gate opening systems, operable partitions, and dock leveling systems. Comprehensive product-specific training will be provided to ensure proficiency in our techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Install and service overhead door mechanics and systems.
  • Work in diverse environments and weather conditions.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor at customer job sites.
  • Represent the company as the primary point of contact at customer locations.
  • Adhere to punctuality, reliability, and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and at various job sites as required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components.
  • Operate scissor lifts, high lifts, fork trucks, and other heavy equipment.
  • Organize job sites and ensure attention to detail.
  • Ensure job site safety in compliance with company policy and customer requirements.
  • Complete required training for access at local manufacturing sites.
  • Load and unload job site materials, utilizing hoists and slings as necessary.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in relevant fields.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical components.
  • Experience with heavy equipment such as scissor lifts, high lifts, and fork trucks.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of PLC functions, relay logic circuits, and 3-phase 480 volts.
  • Current or ability to obtain OSHA 30 and ARSC certifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial overhead door installation/service.
  • ARC/MIG welding and metal fabrication skills.
  • Understanding of ladder logic/programming.
  • Experience in training and leading colleagues.
  • Hoist and slings experience.
  • Ability to obtain 'For Hire' endorsement and pass DOT physical and drug assessment.

Work Environment

Work primarily during the day shift with rare overnight stays and Saturday work. The role requires the ability to lift heavy materials overhead and work at heights, in various weather conditions. The pay range for this position is competitive and based on experience, with most technicians earning between $23 and $27 per hour.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Evansville, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $65520.00/yr.
