Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Chief of Police to join our team! As the Chief of Police, you will oversee all aspects of the police department’s daily operations. You will supervise officers and administrative staff, develop and implement policies and programs, and manage departmental budgets. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a deep understanding of local and federal laws and regulations and a commitment to public safety.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement short and long-term success strategies for the department's continued success
- Identify and address any weaknesses within the department
- Provide leadership and ongoing training for police department personnel
- Promote the department’s vision, mission, and values
- Research and implement new approaches in public safety
- Foster relationships with the community members and other agencies and organizations
- Evaluate, track, and report on department performance and goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- The required licensing/certification to perform this role
- Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Strong leadership and crisis-resolution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
