Step into a rewarding role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in an academic-focused environment. This contract position offers you the opportunity to work closely with a small caseload—typically about seven students—providing meaningful, individualized instruction and guidance. You’ll be an essential resource for students with cross-categorical needs, focusing mainly on academic skills with some mild self-regulation components.
This position is set for the 2026/2027 school year, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. You’ll work in a collaborative, student-centered setting where you can put your expertise and compassion into practice, helping learners reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications:
- Valid license as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with high school students in a special education setting preferred
- Understanding of cross-categorical programs and individualized instruction
- Knowledge of academic interventions for diverse learners
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to support students with mild self-regulation needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for a caseload of approximately seven students
- Deliver direct instruction in core academic areas
- Support students’ social-emotional and self-regulation development as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and document student growth
