The Technician is responsible for conducting routine service on vehicles, diagnosing, and completing repairs on customer vehicles. The technician is highly knowledgeable about the mechanical aspects of vehicles and works closely with the Parts Department and the Service Consultants to diagnose and repair customer vehicles correctly and efficiently. The Technician communicates with the Service Consultant on all work ordered, asking for clarification, reporting parts that need to be ordered, explaining corrective actions that need to be performed, and recommending service, when necessary, The Technician is capable of correctly doing complicated repair sequences according to established procedures. The Technician is detail-oriented and writes on the work order the repairs completed, the parts required, and the labor to be charged. In addition, the Technician documents any other necessary repairs with the vehicle which were noted during servicing.

Essential Duties: This is a general description of common duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Reads repair orders to determine customer's concerns and corrective action necessary
- Inspects and test drives customer vehicles to determine the source of all problems
- Determines the necessary repairs based on diagnosis of problem and determines parts and labor necessary to complete the repair based on factory guidelines
- Communicates with Service Consultant, Service Assistant Manager, and Customer to obtain approval for required repairs
- Refers to appropriate service manuals and/or technical bulletins to determine proper procedures for completing the repair
- Records all time worked on vehicle on daily time ticket in accordance with department procedures.
- Obtains all parts from the Parts Department necessary to complete repairs, including requisitioning special-order parts.
- Test drives customer vehicle after repair to determine if problems were corrected
- Reports any shop tools that are not functional to the Assistant Service Manager or Shop Foreman
- Attends product schools and training sessions as arranged by the Assistant Service Manager
- Keeps work area orderly during day, and cleans area at the end of every day,

Education and/or Experience:
- One-year technical college or student co-op program or equivalent experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASE and Stellantis Certification a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver's license
