Reports to

Director of Technology + Student Information Systems

Overview

The Technology + Student Information Systems Associate is responsible for assisting and supporting the Principals and Counseling department with managing student data on Powerschool. This includes creating schedules, updating grades and assisting Students and Parents/Guardian with access to their Powerschool accounts. Support Director of Technology + SIS with syncing powerschool data with Clever and Google Workspace as well as installing add-ons to further enhance Powerschool with new features. In addition, the Technology + SIS Associate will perform a variety of routine-to-moderately complex technology department support to maintain efficiency and upkeep of the school's instructional technology hardware and software, as well as daily operations.

Responsibilities

Technology and SIS Support

  • Support with all aspects of Powerschool, including updating grades & test scores, scheduling, plugins and add-on software (bright arrow, MBA reports, PSCB Dev, etc).
  • Support with all aspects of technology hardware and software used at the school. (Printers, Phones, Apple Devices, Chromebooks, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, etc.).
  • Manage inventory of chromebook carts in the school along with repairs.
  • Manage the preparation of all necessary equipment for technology setups for meetings and events as needed.
  • Work through a helpdesk system to track and resolve issues with Powerschool and technology.
  • Create or update documentation and data to support daily options, including but not limited to Inventory, how-to tutorials, etc.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Effective skills in self-management including but not limited to meeting deadlines, effective prioritization of tasks, self-organization, managing up, and efficient time and task management
  • Ability to learn new hardware and software and implement best practices.
  • Experience managing PowerSchool and plugins.
  • Experience with installation, configuration and maintenance of computer hardware and software.
  • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to reply to email with urgency.
  • Tact and sensitivity, including but not limited to adhering to confidentiality obligations such as mandated reporting.
  • Ability to build strong and effective collegial relationships as part of an interdisciplinary team of educators and school leaders.
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships effectively and appropriately with a diverse range of individuals, including but not limited to current and prospective students and families, colleagues, and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related tech field or education required
  • Experience with managing all aspects of PowerSchool
  • Experience with supporting computer hardware and software
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Workspace and related products
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and related products
  • Background in programming and databases preferred
  • Experience working in schools preferred

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time 12-month position. The regular hours and workdays are Monday through Friday, 7:55 am to 3:55 pm in addition to any special events to which all staff are expected to attend.

Salary Range

$65,000 - $70,000 annually (Based on Experience)
