About This Role
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 3–5. The teacher will plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, promote positive social-emotional growth, and maintain strong communication with families.
What You'll Do
Classroom Instruction & Care
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans that support physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Maintain a classroom schedule that balances active and quiet play, large and small group activities, and indoor/outdoor experiences.
- Ensure supervision and safety of all children at all times.
- Provide positive guidance and behavior management consistent with center policies.
Curriculum & Assessment
- Incorporate hands-on learning, literacy, math, art, science, and music into classroom activities.
- Use a variety of instructional methods and materials to engage children.
- Observe and document children’s progress and share updates with families.
- Adapt curriculum to meet the needs of children with diverse learning styles and abilities.
Family & Community Engagement
- Maintain open and respectful communication with families.
- Participate in family conferences, parent meetings, and center events.
- Promote parental involvement in classroom activities.
Requirements
- Current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential - Preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
