Combination Product Test Engineer - Contract-to-Hire

Position Summary
We are seeking Combination Product Test Engineers to support testing activities for medical device combination products. The primary responsibility is the timely and accurate execution of assigned testing per project scope and client requirements. Responsibilities include sample handling, test execution, documentation, data analysis, and equipment use within a laboratory environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform timely sample intake, including receipt, identification, storage, and return shipping.
- Execute testing using approved test methods, protocols, specifications, and laboratory equipment.
- Conduct data analysis using tools such as Excel, JMP, and Minitab.
- Communicate scheduling issues, testing conflicts, or challenges to management promptly.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals.
- Manage routine sample disposition, including coordination of hazardous waste disposal.
- Keep laboratory and storage areas clean, organized, and compliant with housekeeping standards.
- Follow Quality Systems requirements, including identification and reporting of Quality Events (OOS, Deviations, CAPA, etc.).
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and recommend updates or improvements as needed.
- Review and assist in drafting equipment or lab documentation (SLP, LWI) under supervision.
- Review test results, perform data analysis, and prepare draft reports.
- Interact with clients to provide updates and technical overviews under management supervision.
- Review and may author test methods, protocols, and reports with guidance.
- Work collaboratively and respectfully with colleagues.
- Communicate with clients under lab management supervision.
Education, Experience & Skills
- Associate degree and 0–2 years of experience in laboratory services, medical device, IVD, or pharmaceutical industries (contract testing experience preferred).
- Knowledge of GLP, cGMP, ISO, and ASTM methodologies is beneficial.
- Strong technical written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and general data analysis tools.
- High attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities across teams.
