Job Summary
Responsible for the maintenance of the manufacturing plant and multiple properties. The purpose of this position is to ensure that the physical condition of the properties and equipment satisfies ownership and management objectives.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Must have experience of at least two years as a mechanic in a food manufacturing plant or Retail bakeries.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Must have computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must have a valid CA driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator and scissor lift certifications.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends, and be on call as needed.
Job Duties
- Responsible for the general maintenance and repair of the production area and equipment of the local main headquarters and the retail store locations.
- Maintenance of main kitchens and retail stores facility, compressors, boilers, and lighting.
- Documents all repairs and preventive maintenance made during the shift in the work order system. Ensures all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs.
- Demonstrates full knowledge of and compliance with Company Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets, including the assembly/disassembly of equipment, utilizing best safe and sanitary practices.
- Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees, and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, mechanical/electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Follow all required safe work practices. This would include lockout/tagout requirements and the wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area. Inspects, repairs, and performs overhauls on mechanical drives/motors, pneumatic & hydraulic components, motor control center devices, transport conveyor systems, and rotating, cutting, & grinding equipment.
- Performs machine shop duties such as general metal fabrication, welding, and machining.
- Responsible for prioritizing repair and maintenance tasks to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted workflow for the manufacturing plant.
- Responsible for compliance with all local, State, and Federal laws as they relate to the maintenance of the plant and equipment.
Pay & Schedule
- $40.00 - $42.00 Per Hour (Overtime After 8 Hours)
- 6:00 am - 7:00 am start time
- Thursday - Monday (Tuesdays and Wednesdays off) or Sunday - Thursday (Friday and Saturday off)
