Job Summary:
Tryfacta is seeking an Information Systems Technician 1/2 for our client in San Jose, CA 95118. This is a temporary contract assignment. If you meet the qualifications listed below and are interested, please Apply Now!

Position Title: Information Systems Technician 1/2
Location: San Jose, CA 95118
Duration: 960 hours
Work Schedule: M-F

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Assist, evaluate, troubleshoot, setup and configure end user computer hardware and software
Provide remote technical support over the phone or network/internet
Answer, diagnose, troubleshoot and assign calls to the IT helpdesk hotline
Open, maintain and close work orders utilizing the ServiceNow ITSM platform
Maintain inventory of computer parts, peripherals and supplies
Move or relocate computers, peripherals and accessories

Intermediate computer skills with experience as a Help Desk or IT Desktop Technician
Knowledge and technical support experience of Windows 10/11
Experience in troubleshooting computer hardware/software problems
Experience with enterprise office productivity suite (Microsoft Office365)
Advanced customer relations skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to control and manage several tasks simultaneously
Strong analytical and decision-making skills

Information Systems Technician I
Knowledge of:
Information and computer systems technology.
Principles and practices of computer hardware and software operations.
Operational principles and uses of audio/visual equipment.
Methods and techniques of determining and troubleshooting computer hardware and software problems.
Best practices for office procedures, methods, and equipment.
Common desktop applications and software as well as specialized software related to the work.
Principles and procedures of recordkeeping.

Ability to:
Perform computer help desk support duties.
Learn and apply methods and techniques used in troubleshooting various computer hardware and software problems; audio/visual software and equipment.
Install, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot computer systems hardware and software problems and audio/visual equipment.
Provide assistance in troubleshooting network problems.
Principles and techniques for providing a high level of customer service by effectively dealing with the public, vendors, contractors, and District staff.
Document and maintain records of user calls and resolutions.
Use common desktop applications and software.
Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Training and Experience Guidelines
The following combination represents the minimum training and experience requirements for this classification:
Training
Equivalent to thirty (30) semester units of college level or vocational coursework in computer science or a closely related field.
Substitution
Experience in computer hardware and software applications and operations or audio/visual software and equipment or substantially similar experience may be substituted for the college on a one year and one-half for one year basis.
License or Certificate
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license.

Information Systems Technician II
In addition to the qualifications for Information Systems Technician I:

Knowledge of:
Methods and techniques used in troubleshooting various computer application, hardware, and software problems.
Tools, methods and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of audio/visual and related equipment.
Audio/visual equipment and techniques and principles utilized in presentations and meetings.
Software used to make presentations and operation of audio/visual equipment.
Principles and practices of computer science and information systems.
Operation of computer hardware, software, and computer operating systems.
Principles and practices of computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
Operational characteristics of local and wide area networks.
Operational characteristics of common computer software applications.

Ability to:
Ensure that sufficient and appropriate computer, audio/visual, and related equipment is operating appropriately.
Test, diagnose problems, adjust, and make minor repairs to computer and audio/visual equipment.
Operate hand and small power tools.
Use common desktop applications and software as well as specialized software related to the work.
Training and Experience Guidelines

Training
