We are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic Contingent OB Hospitalist Physician to become part of our team in Muskegon, MI. This role presents a thrilling chance to significantly influence the health of our community while thriving in a supportive, mission-oriented setting.
Opportunity Overview
- Deliver comprehensive in-house care and management for obstetric patients, covering labor and delivery, obstetric emergencies, and postpartum support.
- Our Birth Center is equipped with private, cozy, home-like birthing suites.
- Work 24-hour shifts (7 am to 7 am) on a rotating basis.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
- Our facility includes a Level II Special Care Nursery for infants needing additional support, with a Level III NICU available in Grand Rapids for more complex cases.
- The team comprises residents and faculty engaged in a specialized OB/GYN residency program.
- One OB hospitalist will be on duty per shift, working alongside experienced labor & delivery RNs, NICU APPs, and having access to a social worker.

Qualifications
- Relevant clinical experience is essential.
- Physicians: Must be board certified in a relevant clinical specialty or board eligible, with the expectation to achieve board certification within five years of the start date (unless earlier required by applicable medical staff bylaws).
- Possession of an active Michigan medical license (or the ability to obtain one).
- DEA license is required.
- BLS certification (must be maintained) and ACLS/BLS certification (must be maintained).
Responsibilities
A typical day may involve:
- Providing direct patient care.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Engaging in teaching and mentoring activities.
- Documenting patient information in Epic EMR.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Supporting community health initiatives.
