Job DescriptionOur law firm is looking for an attorney who is ready to represent our existing client base. The ideal candidate will work closely with the firm’s clients, administrative staff, and senior partners. $75,000 - $100,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
- Supervise administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks
- Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs
- Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action
- Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution
- Conduct client interviews and maintain ongoing communication to ensure strong attorney–client relationships.
- Review, analyze, and summarize medical records and related documentation.
- Draft correspondence, legal pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Attend court hearings, facilitations, and other legal proceedings.
- Conduct depositions of medical and vocational experts.
- Prepare and write facilitation summaries and other case-related reports.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for fair compensation on behalf of clients.
- Manage case files efficiently and collaborate with support staff to ensure timely case progression.
Qualifications:
- Work independently while handling a heavy caseload
- Prior experience working in a law firm for a minimum of 1-2 years required
- Candidates must currently be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred
- Ability to use Microsoft Office is required
- Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient computer skills, including use of the internet, email, word processing, and database software.
- Prior experience in workers' compensation, no-fault, personal injury, medical malpractice, or social security disability law preferred.
