We’re looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our Wixom shop. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC milling, turning, and grinding equipment to produce precision components, tooling, and gages to tight tolerances. You’ll work closely with a small, experienced team on a variety of custom and prototype projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities
• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and grinders to produce precision parts
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts
• Write and edit CNC programs (Fanuc, Haas, or similar controllers)
• Perform in-process and final inspection using micrometers, calipers, CMM, and gauging equipment
• Produce custom tooling, fixtures, gages, and prototype components
• Maintain tight tolerances — often to tenths (.0001")
• Communicate job status, quality issues, and scheduling needs to the team
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Requirements
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience (mill and/or lathe)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and GD&T
• Experience with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques
• Familiarity with CNC conversational or G-code programming
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Manual machining experience is a plus
• Experience in automotive, defense, or gage-making industries preferred
