CNC Boring Mill & Lathe Setup Specialist (Live Tooling)

At Toolcraft Machining in Germantown, WI, we’re adding a second‑shift CNC pro who thrives on tight tolerances and challenging, low‑volume work. If you have deep setup experience and can switch seamlessly between a DMG MORI mill/turn and a CNC lathe or boring mill, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll do

• Set up and run live‑tooling lathes and multi‑axis mill/turns (DMG MORI with Siemens), plus CNC boring bars and vertical machining centers.
• Operate equipment including Doosan PUMA 1214, Toshiba 150, and Toshiba 200.
• Read and apply blueprints, drawings, models, and routings to plan the sequence of operations and verify tolerances.
• Define tooling and workholding; build secure setups with blocks, fixtures, and clamps.
• Program at the control or load proven code; optimize speeds/feeds, depths, and angles during machining.
• Track tool life, replace inserts, and tweak offsets to keep features within .002" or tighter per GD&T.
• Perform in‑process and final inspections using precision metrology and gauges.
• Maintain a clean, organized machine and work area daily.

Must‑haves

• 5+ years of CNC setup and operation across turning, VMC, boring mill, and/or mill/turn platforms.
• Proficiency in GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and G‑Code.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice‑to‑haves

• Mastercam programming and editing experience.
• Job‑shop background with low‑quantity, high‑complexity parts.
• Experience with overhead cranes and hoists.
