Legal Assistant – Real Estate / Transactional
Location: Washington, DC
Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (35-hour workweek)


A well-established mid-size law firm in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a busy transactional and commercial real estate practice. This is a full-time, onsite role supporting 2–4 attorneys and is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong law firm administrative experience.


The firm offers a collaborative environment, reasonable hours, and long-term stability. Limited remote flexibility may be available after onboarding, at the firm’s discretion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to assigned attorneys
  • Draft, edit, format, and file legal and transactional documents
  • Manage attorney calendars, scheduling, and deadlines
  • Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and third parties
  • Assist with time entry and basic billing functions
  • Organize and maintain client files, closing binders, and related materials
  • Support special projects and additional administrative needs as required


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of law firm experience required (real estate or transactional experience preferred)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF, and calendaring systems
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to document management and time/billing software
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
  • Professional communication style and client-service mindset
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong time management and follow-through
