Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Attorney to join our team in Chicago, Illinois, on a long-term contract basis. This role focuses on supporting a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, leases, development projects, dispositions, and financing arrangements. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing legal aspects of service contracts, regulatory matters, and real estate due diligence.
Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and negotiate real estate service contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with Associate General Counsel and business teams to support acquisitions, leases, development projects, dispositions, and financing transactions.
• Advise on title and survey issues and prepare necessary legal documents related to development and financing contracts.
• Monitor the status and approval processes of real estate contracts, ensuring timely implementation and adherence to organizational requirements.
• Provide legal guidance on real estate due diligence and assist in all stages of the development process.
• Coordinate with external counsel, title companies, and counterparties to manage real estate transactions from initiation to completion.
• Stay updated on legal regulations, industry standards, and best practices for real estate contracting and compliance.
• Support the team in addressing regulatory matters and ensuring legal adherence across operations.
• Facilitate the preparation and interpretation of disposition-related documentation.
• Assist in overseeing and managing the company's commercial real estate transactions, ensuring seamless execution.• Proven experience in commercial and corporate real estate law.
• Strong knowledge of legal practices related to acquisitions, leases, development, dispositions, and financing.
• Proficiency in drafting, negotiating, and implementing real estate service contracts.
• Familiarity with title and survey matters, including associated documentation.
• Ability to conduct thorough real estate due diligence and provide actionable advice.
• Excellent coordination skills to manage transactions involving external counsel and third parties.
