Role Description The Medical Assistant role at CrescentCare is a full-time, on-site position based in New Orleans, LA. The Medical Assistant supports providers by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting patient histories, and assisting with clinical procedures. Daily tasks include managing patient flow, updating electronic medical records, handling appointment scheduling and follow-up, and ensuring that supplies and equipment are stocked and organized. The role also involves supporting patient care coordination, providing clear instructions to patients, and collaborating with clinical and administrative staff to maintain a safe and efficient care environment.\n
Qualifications

- Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting, including routine clinical procedures and patient support.
- Solid understanding of Medical Terminology to accurately communicate and document patient information.
- Experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, triage, and front- and back-office workflows.
- Strong Patient Care skills, with a focus on respect, confidentiality, and trauma-informed, culturally competent care.
- Ability to manage and maintain Medical Records in electronic health record (EHR) systems with attention to detail and compliance.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification (CMA, RMA or equivalent) preferred.
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Commitment to serving diverse communities and supporting CrescentCare’s mission as a non-profit health organization.
