Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician provides hands-on technical support to the production floor, helping maintain equipment uptime, resolve equipment and product quality issues, support process improvements, and assist with the introduction and implementation of new equipment and tooling.

This role works closely with Engineering Manager, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to troubleshoot problems, implement short- and long-term solutions, support production startups, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and work methods.

Principal Accountabilities

• Provide timely, hands-on technical support to maintain production equipment uptime and minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, process, and product quality issues on the production floor and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Assess quality issues and provide input regarding non-conforming material disposition, including rework, sorting, or use-as-is decisions in accordance with established procedures.
• Develop and implement short-term solutions to minimize equipment downtime while documenting issues, root causes, and corrective actions.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering and cross-functional teams in identifying and implementing long-term solutions to recurring equipment and process problems.
• Provide input into preventive maintenance programs, including recommended maintenance tasks, procedures, and frequencies.
• Assist with the design, development, modification, and implementation of manufacturing equipment and tooling.
• Participate in equipment run-offs, installation activities, first-piece approvals, production startup trials, and equipment/process validation activities.
• Support the design and improvement of manufacturing processes, work methods, and production workflows.
• Assist with the development and implementation of operator training programs, standard work instructions, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Perform equipment changeovers and support production personnel in ensuring equipment is properly configured for scheduled production.
• Participate in engineering projects and monthly project status meetings; provide updates regarding project progress, technical challenges, and activities affecting schedule completion.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment reliability, production efficiency, quality, safety, and cost.
• Actively participate in process improvement and problem-solving initiatives within the scope of the position.
• Work effectively as a collaborative member of the Manufacturing Engineering team and cross-functional production organization.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related equipment, tooling, process, and product quality issues on the production floor and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and actively support 5S standards and audit activities.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable work instructions.
• Support company objectives and operational goals within the scope of the position.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
