A Typical Day
The Site Operations Manager oversees management of all designated areas of operations to assure products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives, ensuring the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversees designated areas of manufacturing, ensuring employee safety, quality and environmental standards are met.
- Provide direction and systems that will keep the manufacturing operation an industry leader in cost and quality.
- Assist in the development of short-term and long-term goals for production needs and monitor the results of cost and quality systems to insure profit targets are achieved. Manage cost of designated manufacturing areas within budget.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (labor reduction, waste reduction, cost reduction) that guide the organization in maintaining and improving profitability and competitive position.
- Collaborate and partner with teams to innovate new approaches to ensure increased efficiency, productivity, and process optimizing.
- Initiate and coordinate major projects (e.g., installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
- Allocate resources effectively and utilize assets to meet strategic objective goals.
- Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations.
- Provide coaching, direction, leadership and development to build talent throughout the organization.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years related experience or equivalent experience, OR Master’s degree plus 3 years related experience or equivalent experience.
- Able to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated strong reasoning, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Performance management skills/ability to collaborate and coordinate team members and projects.
- Strategic knowledge of production operations management for quality, yield, and cost.
- Knowledge of financial and budgetary process
- Demonstrated ability to formulate operations policies and programs.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 8 years related experience, OR Master’s degree plus 5 years related experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrate keen attention to detail, initiative and proactivity.
- Ability to multitask and have great communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The work is primarily performed in an office environment and the physical demands are characteristic of a mostly sedentary role. Specific details of the essential functions of the position is available in the Job Safety Analysis, made available on request.
