JOB TITLE: Senior Technical Projects Manager
DEPARTMENT: Technology
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
SUMMARY: The Senior Technical Projects Manager is responsible for maintaining and
managing complex technical projects for key customers of DK Energy Services. The STPM will
provide high-value technical support and project management for DK Energy Services’
customers. Ensuring technical projects and goals are clearly defined so that solutions-oriented
technical products, services and results are delivered to help mitigate failures, increase O&G
production and prolong E&P assets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Project Support and Management:
• Provide technical support to strategic DK customers in the Permian Basin.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource requirements, and milestones to
support business goals in collaboration with customers and stakeholders.
• As necessary make technical recommendations to customers for issues including scale,
corrosion, paraffin, etc. and suggest monitoring procedures and KPIs to customers.
• Provide detailed technical reports, attend customer meetings, lead technical discussions
and presentations as necessary to support all aspects of customers’ technical projects.
• As necessary coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for the flawless
execution of projects.
Building and Maintaining Customer Relationships:
• Serve as the technical point of contact to key customer personnel such as chemical
advisors, production managers and engineering departments.
• Build and maintain relationships with high level technical customer contacts and ensure
technical capabilities are aligned with the needs of customers and/or market.
• Leverage customer contacts as a method of gaining additional and/or new business.
Field Methods of Technical Support:
• Collection of field samples and data for high-profile technical projects.
• Lab testing of field samples in technical lab as necessary.
• Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) reporting.
• Lead and participate in Technical Audits, TSAs, Surveys and RFPs.
Continuous Improvement:
• Assist in the development and roll out of new products and services that are technically
beneficial to customers and DK business.
• Assist in training field/sales staff and customers on technical field activities and task
including monitoring techniques, products and processes relating to OFC.
• Support and assist in implementing and maintaining certified management systems
ascribed to DK such as ISO 9001. Promote awareness of risks and opportunities
associated with their work. Maintain an understanding of the quality policy and how they
personally contribute to meeting DK objectives and goals.
• Support and assist in implementing and maintaining the RCMS program. Identify training
needs of personnel. Promote awareness of the RCMS guiding principles and Dorf
Ketal's HSSE policy, objectives and goals in addition to how they can contribute to them.
• Other projects as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Required Skills/Abilities:
o Proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
o Proficient in technical report writing, presenting and interfacing with customers.
o Experience in problem resolution of OFC such as scale, corrosion, and paraffin.
o Root Cause Failure Analysis understanding and experience.
o Ability to travel 40% – 70% in Permian Basin.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong problem-solving
and organizational approach to technical project management.
• Education/Experience:
o Bachelor’s Degree in either Engineering or Chemistry preferred.
o 5+ years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry in a chemical technology
role supporting Upstream and Midstream Oilfield Chemicals for OFC companies.
