Job Description

We are hiring a Cook for a fast-paced, high-volume dinner theatre kitchen in Clarksville, IN. This role is ideal for someone with experience in restaurants, catering, or banquets who can produce consistent, high-quality food for large guest counts. At Derby Dinner Playhouse, you’ll help prepare buffet-style meals in a structured, team-oriented kitchen that supports live theatre performances.

Location: Clarksville, IN

Pay: $14–$16 per hour

Schedule: Evenings, weekends, and show nights required

What You'll Do

Prepare and cook buffet-style menu items according to recipes and standards
Execute high-volume cooking and batch prep
Assist with pre-show prep to ensure smooth and timely service
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
Follow portion control and quality standards
Ensure proper food storage, rotation, and labeling
Work closely with kitchen staff during busy service periods
Assist with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures

Requirements

1-2+ years of cooking experience (restaurant, catering, or banquet preferred)
Experience with high-volume or batch cooking
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
