Rockford Gastroenterology Associates is a premier gastroenterology practice serving northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintenance duties including electrical repairs, plumbing, and equipment or facility repairs.
Position Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday. First shift; must be able to work outside standard hours when business needs arise (e.g., projects, vendor schedules, emergency repairs).
Work Location: Rockford, IL at all RGA-specific facilities.
Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform basic electrical repairs, outlet replacement, light switch replacement, and basic troubleshooting.
- Performs basic plumbing repair; repair/replace sink and shower faucets, repair/replace toilets, repair/replace sink drains, and basic troubleshooting.
- Coordinate the repair of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment, filter replacement, and thermostats.
- Coordinate the repair and inspection of the elevator.
- Perform minor drywall repairs, replace light bulbs, etc.
- Complete basic assembly and disassembly of office/outdoor furniture and cubicles.
- Perform special maintenance functions. This includes weekly generator and vacuum pump testing, inspection, maintenance, and written record-keeping.
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Keep the management informed of any general maintenance issues.
- Complete special tasks related to clinical needs, spills, or bathroom accidents.
Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:
- High school graduate or equivalent and some technical preparation preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in building maintenance, repair, and cleaning services.
- Must have the ability to anticipate and/or troubleshoot problems.
- Must have general knowledge of simple equipment used in the building trades.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform repairs.
- Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Vision (with correction) sufficient for reading and performing repairs.
