Step into a meaningful special education role focused on supporting students through a contract position for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. This opportunity offers variety and impact across several middle and elementary school settings, tailored for professionals confident in classroom management and specialized behavioral support.

Positions are available within both resource and center-based programs. You'll work onsite with students who require individualized strategies, particularly those with emotional and behavioral needs. Assignments include middle school resource roles, FMLA leave coverage, and several autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental/cognitive disabilities (DCD) focused classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
  • Collaborate with general education and SPED teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service staff
  • Develop, implement, and manage individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans
  • Maintain strong attendance and consistent presence
  • Employ problem-solving and evidence-based behavior management strategies
  • Structure classroom routines to optimize student engagement and learning
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching credential in any Special Education category listed below:
    • Autism Spectrum Disorders
    • Developmental Disabilities
    • Early Childhood Special Education
    • Emotional Behavioral Disorders
    • Learning Disabilities
    • Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (optional)
  • Experience designing and implementing effective behavior plans
  • Strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills
  • Commitment to positive, collaborative teamwork
  • Track record of excellent attendance
