The Peaks Resort and Spa located in beautiful Telluride, Colorado is looking for a Engineering Technician to join our team providing world class service and an extraordinary experience for our guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Maintain the property’s physical condition in accordance with company operating and safety standards, including grounds, building interiors, and exteriors.
- Ensure cleanliness, decorum, and safety of all common areas, parking lots, sidewalks, and balconies.
- Perform snow removal and ice control to maintain safe access for residents and visitors.
- Respond promptly to maintenance-related resident requests; communicate status to the Engineering Supervisor and residents.
- Prioritize, organize, and complete service requests and general maintenance tasks; document all work per company procedures.
- Prepare vacant units for new tenants in a timely manner and ensure final inspection of all make-readies.
- Monitor inventory of spare parts and supplies; notify supervisor of shortages.
- Maintain spa swimming pools, including:
- Regular testing of water quality and pH balance
- Chemical treatment to maintain proper balance
- Routine cleaning and scheduled maintenance
- May be required to obtain Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
- Provide coverage for the Security department as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Position requires ability to fulfill flexible scheduling requirements including but not limited to nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, emergencies and during periods of inclement weather.
- Participate in required company training.
Requirements:
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools
- Strong reasoning and problem solving skills
- Understanding OSHA guidelines and operates in a safe and effective manner at all times
- Knowledge of local and state health codes requirements for pool areas
- Environmental awareness and impact on high-altitude management of equipment
- Strong customer service skills
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Effective organization skills
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum one year’s experience in Facilities Maintenance or a similar trade or building construction related field.
- Operation of a variety of equipment relative to this position
- Certifications relative to the position are nice-to-haves

Employee must be able to work a 40 hour work week. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to traverse on uneven and rough terrain, as well as paved and unpaved trails, use hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects, tools or controls; and operate foot controls on equipment. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. When operating equipment the employee is frequently exposed to bouncing, jostling, twisting and turning of the upper body. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 lbs.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions, including extreme heat, extreme cold, as well as wet and slippery conditions. While outside the employee is occasionally exposed to direct sunlight, dust, pollen and equipment exhaust fumes. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be loud when around machinery or equipment.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is between $23.00- $27.00 per hour
This is a Full-Time Year Around position
