Our Chicago market includes 170 locations, making this a high-impact leadership role within a large, fast-paced multi-unit operation.
Position Summary
The Facilities Manager provides strong leadership by managing all installations, repairs, and restaurant maintenance operations across a 170-unit QSR portfolio in the Chicago metro area.
This role requires extensive technical knowledge in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance, along with a strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate is a results-oriented self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and capable of balancing field work, vendor oversight, compliance, and preventative maintenance strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations Oversight
- Manage preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and cosmetic building repairs
- Oversee kitchen equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance as needed
- Maintain warranty and service documentation to avoid unnecessary expenses
- Respond to, prioritize, and complete maintenance work orders
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Monitor outside contractors and ensure proper coordination
- Travel within Chicago metro for contractor meetings and inspections
- Manage cyclical services such as:

- Hood cleaning
- Grease trap pumping
- Fire suppression systems
- Carpet cleaning and related services
Safety & Compliance
- Serve as liaison with city, county, and state agencies for fire and occupational safety
- Maintain and enforce safety standards and procedures
- Conduct annual restaurant audits (minimum one per year per location)
- Train and coach management teams on minor repairs to reduce costs and improve safety
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred)
- Multi-unit building management experience within QSR or food service industry
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver’s license
Compensation
Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 annually
