Our work is rooted in stewardship, customer relationship building, sustainability, and craftsmanship — and we’re looking for a reliable, motivated Maintenance Crew Member to join our team.
Position Overview
As a Maintenance Crew Member, you’ll play a vital role in caring for our clients’ landscapes through detailed garden assessments, plant health monitoring, education, pruning, weeding, and general landscape upkeep, excluding lawn services. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys plants, hands-on outdoor work, learning about native ecosystems, and being part of a collaborative, environmentally focused team.
Compensation & Employment Details:
- Hours: 35-40 hours per week.
- Work Arrangement: 4 days per week, with a 8 AM start time and variable departure.
- Starting Rate: TBD based on experience, starts at $20/hr
- Incentives: 401k, PTO
Google reviews and new client sign-ons for maintenance services.
- Performance Review: An initial 90 day review will conclude the probationary period and
will take place to evaluate performance and provide feedback. An annual review will be conducted to assess compensation changes based on proficiency and role expansion.
Responsibilities
- Review daily visit instructions and complete beginning-of-shift procedures.
- Document each visit thoroughly and consistently using Jobber.
- Perform maintenance tasks including weeding, pruning, trimming, plant health assessments, and developing service and garden recommendations for future visits.
- Manage time efficiently and optimize daily route
- Communicate professionally with customers in person and through written cards or notes.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude while collaborating with crew members and management.
- Follow company procedures for attendance, clocking in/out, and requesting time off.
- Use company tools, vehicles, and equipment responsibly; ensure proper care, organization, and security of all materials and facilities.
- Participate in ongoing learning about native and Florida-Friendly plants, weed identification, and landscape best practices.
- Develop plant, material, and service recommendations as needed
- Assist in estimating plant materials for maintenance visits.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in horticulture or garden maintenance is a must (native and invasive plant knowledge experience a plus).
- Ideal candidate is resourceful, self-sufficient and has ability to assess, prioritize and manage garden needs with minimal to no supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering consistent, high-quality work.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Reliable and working smartphone to access mobile apps on a daily basis used for job schedule, time keeping, work details and documentation.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to obtain (with company assistance) commercial herbicide applicator license
