In this role, you will construct custom wooden crates used to safely store and transport sensitive, high-value items throughout the warehouse. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a construction background who enjoy hands-on work, take pride in quality craftsmanship, and thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment.Job Responsibilities of Crate Builders
- Build custom wooden crates for sensitive equipment and materials stored throughout the warehouse.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and secure lumber using hand and power tools.
- Read and follow work instructions and basic measurements to ensure crates meet required specifications.
- Inspect completed crates for quality and structural integrity.
- Safely handle and move materials throughout the work area.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications of Crate Builders
- Previous construction, carpentry, framing, crate building, or woodworking experience is required.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools such as drills, saws, nail guns, and impact drivers.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements of Crate Builders
- Warehouse environment with exposure to dust, wood materials, and varying temperatures.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting throughout the workday.
- Regular use of hand and power tools.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must follow all safety policies, including the use of required personal protective equipment.
