The Role

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of a large, privately owned Class A commercial office building fully leased to a federal government agency (GSA tenant).

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, high-accountability environment and brings a proactive, service-minded approach to property operations. You’ll work closely with ownership, a mission-driven federal tenant, and third-party vendors to ensure the property operates at the highest standard while meeting all lease and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Tenant & Agency Liaison

  • Serve as an on-site point of contact for GSA tenant representatives and building engineers
  • Respond to service requests, coordinate with vendors, and ensure timely follow-up with proper documentation
  • Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality while supporting a high-security federal tenant and ensuring lease compliance

Building Operations & Vendor Oversight

  • Assist with day-to-day building operations, including janitorial, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, and access control systems
  • Support service contract execution and monitor vendor performance to ensure alignment with Class A standards and GSA lease terms
  • Participate in routine inspections, incident response, and after-hours emergency protocols as needed

Financial & Administrative Support

  • Assist with budgets, financial reports, accruals, and capital expenditure tracking for ownership review
  • Process invoices, utilities, and vendor payables accurately and on time
  • Maintain lease abstracts, compliance documentation, certificates, tenant work orders, and building logs

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Support compliance with local codes, lease requirements, and applicable government mandates
  • Assist with life safety testing, incident reporting, emergency preparedness planning, and inspections
  • Support tenant improvement coordination and closeout documentation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial real estate, facilities, or property management
  • Experience supporting a federal tenant or working in a high-security or government-occupied building is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-service mindset and high attention to detail
  • Proficiency with property management software (e.g., Yardi, Commercial Café, Elevate) and Microsoft Office
  • Must be eligible to pass a federal background check, including fingerprinting, due to tenant requirements
