Position Summary
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our client's dynamic and growing service team in the Southwest USA. This role is critical to supporting installations, providing maintenance services, and ensuring the smooth operation of automated systems. You will be the front-line representative, interfacing with customers to maintain high levels of satisfaction and system performance.
Key Responsibilities

Perform installation and commissioning of automated systems at customer sites.

Deliver preventive and corrective maintenance, including warranty services.

Provide on-call, remote, and emergency support to ensure system uptime.

Conduct operator and maintenance staff training on system operation and safety.

Promote company services and products; support customer service objectives.

Manage spare parts inventory, including consignment stock at customer sites.

Process service reports, downtime logs, part orders, and expenses promptly.

Participate in ongoing training to stay current on system updates and technologies.

Ensure safe handling of company and customer property, adhering to all safety protocols and appearance standards.

Travel to customer sites across the USA and internationally (including Europe and Asia) as needed.
Key RequirementsTechnical Skills
-
Background in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, Robotics (preferred), or Electromechanical systems.

Strong in diagnostics and troubleshooting: AC/DC motor controllers, servo/stepper motors, PLCs, and conveyor systems.

Proficiency in networking and IT systems: routers, firewalls, switches, LAN/WAN, IP addressing, etc.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).

Familiarity with MS Project, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks is an advantage.
Qualifications

Technical degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or
-
10-15 years of vocational experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
Personal Attributes

Self-motivated and highly organized; capable of working independently.

Strong communicator with excellent customer service skills.

Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, in confined spaces, and on ladders.

Willingness to travel 30-70% of the time and work on-call hours, including nights/weekends/holidays.
Other Requirements

Fluent in English; additional language skills (e.g., French or Italian) are a plus.

Valid passport and driver's license with a clean driving record.
