Wilkes University's Upward Bound Program is seeking a Resident Director (RD) to lead the residential experience for its Summer 2026 Upward Bound Program. The RD will supervise Residential Advisors (RAs), support high school students in a college-preparatory environment, and help create a safe, structured, and engaging campus community.

The program runs June 21 through July 31, 2026, with the position beginning June 7, 2026, and requires the RD to live on campus and supervise students and staff Sunday evenings through Fridays. Responsibilities include overseeing residential operations, supervising and supporting RAs, maintaining a positive student living environment, coordinating programming and evening activities, assisting with student conduct and conflict resolution, and collaborating with staff on student support and program planning.

Candidates should have experience in residential life, youth programs, mentoring, or a related field (preferred), and be a current or rising college junior, senior, or college graduate. Strong leadership, organization, communication, and conflict management skills are essential, along with the ability to supervise student staff, support student development, and work with diverse student populations, including first-generation and low-income students. Candidates must be able to pass a background check and complete Mandated Reporter Training.

The position offers a $5,200 stipend, along with room and board, meals during the program, one evening off per week, and no weekend responsibilities.
