We are seeking an energetic, highly-motivated, qualified CCNP-certified Audio Visual Network Engineer to support a dynamic government museum customer primarily in downtown Washington, DC. This position is foundational to the reliability of exhibition and AV operations. Success is measured not just by uptime, but by the engineer’s ability to make complex systems understandable, defensible, and stable—so that creative, educational, and visitor-facing experiences can operate reliably at scale.

• High level of organization and project management skills

• Tremendous attention to detail

• Ability to weigh a number of options and provide the most efficient solution

What experience you need:

Recent and relevant experience with the following products/technologies:

• Deep hands‑on experience with Cisco switching and enterprise network design.

• Strong understanding of AV‑over‑IP networking concepts, including real‑time UDP traffic, multicast vs. unicast behavior, and broadcast containment.

• Demonstrated expertise with packet‑level analysis and evidence‑driven troubleshooting.

• Experience supporting mission‑critical AV environments (museums, broadcast, performance venues, or similar).

• Ability to translate between AV, IT, and security stakeholders and prevent vendor blame cycles through factual analysis.

• Experience with QSC Q-SYS, ETC lighting networks, 7thSense Media Servers, BrightSign/Roku, Showmaster and other exhibit technologies

• Experience developing technical documentation, including SLDC documents, high-level architectures, and as-builts

What you will do with the experience you bring from above:

• Conduct AV and exhibition network engineering tasks

• Complete advanced troubleshooting and incident support

• Conduct network security and hardening tasks

• Perform monitoring, observability and reliability actions

• Implement infrastructure and lifecycle replacement projects, supporting both compliance and technical deliverables

• Provide support for wireless and external networks

• Develop documentation and effect knowledge transfer

• Collaborate with internal and vendor teams

Minimum training/certifications:

• Active Cisco CCNP (required)

• BS Degree (desired)
