PAVEMENT EVALUATION TEAM TECHNICAL SUPPORT
BB&E is an employee-owned full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
Position Summary
BB&E is currently looking for a Pavement Evaluation Team Technical Support to provide technical support to AFCEC/COAP on the Airfield Pavement Evaluation Team onsite at Tyndall AFB, FL.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage Airfield Pavement Evaluation (APE) Teams vehicles, pavement evaluation equipment and supplies, laboratory equipment and supplies, and office supplies for multiple APE teams and their world-wide mission
- Scheduling and transporting vehicles and equipment for maintenance and calibration, assisting in development and coordination of vehicle and equipment shipping certification, coordination of ground and air shipment of vehicles and equipment, and tracking supply levels by maintaining inventory and ordering supplies
- Support hazardous material and waste management support for the APE Team and facilities
- Provide management support for the APE teams to maintain the file management system for all Airfield Pavement Evaluation Reports (comprehensive, structural, PCI, SKID, and anchor reports
- Posting reports to the network drive and to the pavement evaluation team website for access by external customers and tracking report status
- Coordinating with the Web manager to resolve access issues and to provide support to APE teams’ customers with access to report information, not available on the report website
- Assist with development and production of visual media products in support of reports and evaluation training, to include charts, graphs, maps of evaluation results, and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations
- Provide logistic support and maintenance coordination for up to 30-50 equipment items annually; supporting logistics for 15-20 pavement evaluation site visits which can include shipment of small items or assisting with airlift arrangements to contingency and overseas locations
Requirements
Key Qualifications
· U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a SECRET CLEARANCE is required
· Knowledge
o Demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the area of concrete or asphalt pavement
o Experience with MS Office Computer software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
o Demonstrate the ability to assist with the technical resolution of pavement issues or problems
o Demonstrate the ability to provide technical expertise for criteria development and review of engineering documents
o Demonstrate the ability to perform project reviews to include pavement and site work for pavement area repairs or new construction
· Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences; demonstrated experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and in briefing management personnel
· Software: Proficiency using AutoCAD 2022 and Revit 2021, and MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience & Education
· Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in pavement evaluation, design or construction if the employee has an ABET accredited degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering. Seven (7) years in pavement evaluation, design and/or construction if the employee has a bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering/ Construction Project Management, Construction Technology, or Engineering Technology in Transportation.
· Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Construction Technology, or Engineering Technology in Transportation from an accredited Engineering college or a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time
· Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
· Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
· Capable of lifting up to 10 lbs.
· Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away
· Ability to understand the speech of another person, speak clearly so listeners can understand, and talk or hear both in person and by telephone
