Shift: Full Time, Monday to Friday

Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide excellent customer service while performing hair-related services to the residents of each community.
Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Prepares hair for styling by analyzing hair condition, shampooing and conditioning
• Produces desired effect by arranging, shaping, curling, cutting, trimming, setting, bleaching, dying, and tinting hair
• Builds relationships with residents
• Confers with residents, examining potential styles, making recommendations and studying body language to get to the desired outcome
• Maintains quality service, safe and healthy conditions by following organizational standards and legal regulations
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications
• Maintains supplies by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing orders; verifying receipts
• Records resident charges accurately
• Performs manicures and pedicures
• When lull in appointments occurs during shift, Assists with Life Enrichment department Supervisory Responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D) required. Cosmetologist license required. Individual is to provide professional liability insurance upon proof of Cosmetology license.
Language Skills: Ability to read and follow instructions, warnings, and procedure manuals; ability to follow work directions and assignments; ability to record notes, as needed. Ability to understand how to mix cleaners for proper use.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee frequently sits and is occasionally required push, pull and/or walk 85% of the workday. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is required to ask for assistance from co-workers, supervisors or managers when lifting and/or moving any object, regardless of weight, where personal injury has a reasonable possibility of occurrence. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
