Join the Tangled Tails team and get hands-on training in dog daycare, boarding, and front desk care. This is a part-time role covering both animal care and the front desk, under 20 hours per week. Applicants 16 and older are welcome.

Schedule

• Shifts fall in the afternoon and evening, generally between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM
• Typically 3 to 4 hours per shift
• Days and times vary week to week based on the daycare and boarding schedule
• Occasional evening kennel round at 9:00 PM, usually 10 to 30 minutes
• Weekend and holiday availability required — we operate 7 days a week, and holidays are our busiest boarding periods

What You'll Do — Animal Care

• Supervise daycare playgroups and keep every dog safe and engaged
• Feed, water, and administer scheduled medications
• Take dogs out on a consistent potty schedule
• Monitor each dog's health and behavior and report changes right away
• Clean and sanitize kennels, play yards, and common areas

What You'll Do — Front Desk

• Greet every client and pet by name at check-in and check-out
• Answer phones and respond to client questions
• Book grooming, daycare, and boarding reservations
• Take payments and handle retail purchases
• Verify vaccination records before any pet is accepted

What We're Looking For

• Comfortable around dogs of all sizes and temperaments
• Reliable — when you're scheduled, dogs are counting on you being here
• Friendly and clear with clients, in person and on the phone
• Calm and steady when the lobby is busy or a dog is stressed
• Able to stand and move for an entire shift, lift up to 50 lbs, bend and kneel
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather
• No prior experience required — we train

What We Offer

• We pay in full for a professional canine handling certification through Dog Handler Academy, completed on the clock, never on your own time
• Pay starts at $12.00/hr and moves to $14.00/hr once you complete your certification and 90-day probation
